The Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department Station 670 has been Serving Washington and Knox Townships since 1951. In the early years, we responded to totals of around 13 calls a year. In the last three years, we have totaled over 100. We currently have 5 trucks. A 1999 HME Engine, a 2004 Kenworth T800 first due Tanker, a 1982 Ford 9000 Heavy Rescue, a 1986 International second due Tanker, and a 2008 Dodge Ram 5500 Brush truck. Throughout the years, WTVFD has blossomed from a small town fire department into the technical rescue responders of Clarion County. Our high skill level and special equipment has sent us to perform rescues almost 20 minutes, and another nearly 35 minutes out of our jurisdiction. We have a roster of 30 members, many of which are certified in rope rescue, basic vehicle rescue, emergency medical technicians or first responders, Delmar essentials of firefighting, and many more.
